Thank you so much for the great level of generosity you have shown during this season of giving for our director. Mrs. Brooks was presented an Amazon gift card, along with a monogram tote, purse, and tumbler. The tremendous show of support is always greatly appreciated.

The “Lizzie Award” – “Above and Beyond” was developed in the loving memory of the late Lizzie Quarterman, who was an outstanding employee of The Jessamine Place. As a Direct Support Professional and Team Leader, she demonstrated “the extra mile” approach to supporting people served by the agency.

The Jessamine Place is very proud to announce the agency’s first place recipient for this prestigious award is Baerbel Johnson. She received a $100 gift card along with beautiful plague commemorating her recognition. Runner-ups were: Melinda McKinley and Latreace Reed. Both ladies were awarded certificates and gift cards.

A direct support professional is a person who assists and advocates for individuals with a disability to lead a self-directed life while becoming full members of their community. DSPs encourage positive attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. A DSP engages in meaningful and rewarding work while helping fulfill dreams.

Happy Boss Day

National Boss’s Day was celebrated on Friday – October 16, 2020. This day recognizes the hardworking boss overseeing the workplace. Employees across the United States show appreciation and thankfulness to their bosses. Many leaders carry heavy loads. While their position holds them responsible for a department, business or organization and leading it to success, their list of responsibilities are multifaceted.

The Jessamine Place workforce would like to thank Mrs. Brooks for her leadership, hard work, and dedication to our agency.
