Over the years, I had the opportunity to visit many other organizations throughout Georgia and have worked with other agencies in Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. It has been my observation that The Jessamine Place stands out as a Center of Excellence. It’s begins with a dedicated leadership team and staff who go above and beyond to provide for the people they serve. Not that other agencies do not provide good services, it’s just that The Jessamine Place Shines. The Jessamine Place is an integral part of our community with active engagement by the people who receives supports from the agency. I am very proud that The Jessamine Place is a part of our community. A Place of excellence.
Reception for Martha Powers-Jones
On Wednesday – December 13th, People First of Fitzgerald attended the farewell reception for Martha Powers-Jones. Martha was Director of the Ben Hill County Library and through her leadership a great partnership was developed with The Jessamine Place. She strived to ensure that all people were treated with dignity and respect. The Jessamine Place will truly missed her.
The Jessamine Place has been a huge part of the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Co. Chamber of Commerce for over 20 yrs. You can always count on the staff to be part of any event or committee the Chamber has. In the past two years, the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Co. Chamber of Commerce has had the privilege to have 2 of their people served work for the Chamber. Both always come with the best work ethic, smile and hugs every time. The Jessamine Place is a blessing to Fitzgerald, Ga and the surrounding area and a partner with the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Co. Chamber of Commerce and its staff.
Derinda Lewis, Executive Secretary
